The YMCA Youth Investment in Values Challenge is a friendly competition among local high school students supported by Canadian Investment Firms. The YMCA of Greater Toronto in collaboration with Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) National Stock Market Competitions, and supported by participating investment firms launched this new program pilot early in 2006. In 2007, 132 teams and near 600 students coming from potential high-risk communities benefited from this experience. The 12 week program supports provincial high school curriculum and engages our investment professionals to act as "mentors" while teachers act as "coaches" to student teams of 3 to 5. This year we will be honouring the winning "mentor" and "coach" at the Canadian Investment Awards Gala.
