2008 AWARD CATEGORIES, COMMITTEES AND CRITERIA OVERVIEW

The event theme, "Recognizing Long-term Investing", reflects a longer-term perspective throughout the program and specifically when selecting award winners. Leaders are selected by teams of analysts, by independent juries, and directly by peer vote, investor and advisor votes. The awards line-up has again fine-tuned representation amongst investment product options and within other categories. Please reference this years list of awards for new categories.

Important Notes:
All award categories, committees and criteria have been reviewed and updated again this year. Labour Sponsored Investment Funds and Income Trust Awards have been excluded again this year. Meanwhile segregated funds remain merged into overall mutual fund category given similarity in underlying investment fund. The addition of the Green Company Awards is especially significant, as it marks our support of ongoing long term green initiatives within the industry. These innovations are in keeping with the Canadian Investment Awards' ongoing policy of widening the scope of the awards to fully represent the industry and the needs of Canadians.
