PIERRE SAINT-LAURENT

Canada’s leading consultancy in alternative investments. He was formerly vice-president and shareholder at Talvest Fund Management and StrategicNova, where he was closely involved in the management and deployment of the StrategicNova Managed Futures Fund, the first widely available hedge fund in Canada. He teaches at HEC (the University of Montreal Business School) in Finance and Economics. He was research economist at Hydro-Quebec in two of its divisions. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Montreal, with doctoral studies in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Science from HEC Montreal. He holds the (CFA) Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has been a CFA Examination Grader in Charlottesville, VA, USA as well as a member of the Candidate Curriculum Committee Working Body of the CFA Institute. He holds the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) FRM (Financial Risk Manager) and CFE (chartered Fraud Examiner) designations. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
