The Canadian Investment Awards has a long history of partnering with Canadian charities as a part of our gala evening event. This year, in keeping with our musical theme, we are working with the innovative and unique MusiCounts charity.
MusiCounts, Canada's music education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), is helping to keep music alive in schools across Canada. MusiCounts' mission is to ensure that children in Canada, regardless of socio-economic circumstances and cultural background, have access to a comprehensive music program through their school. MusiCounts includes Band Aid musical instrument grants, the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award, Scholarships, and other music education initiatives.
To date, more than 4 million dollars has been donated, impacting hundreds of post-secondary music program graduates and hundreds of thousands of students, their schools and communities from coast to coast. MusiCounts also continues to honour extraordinary music teachers through the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award.
Proceeds from submission fees will be donated to MusiCounts. A special presentation will be made to MusiCounts at the event on November 27.
